REGISTRATION INFORMATION

In-Person Registration:  You may register in-person on any of the days listed above.  Any player needing to purchase the SSC Indoor jersey t-shirts should attend one of the above in-person registration sessions (players will no longer be allowed to wear their recreational jerseys from Southside or Tualatin Soccer Clubs).  If unable to attend, you can mail the registration form and we will let you know an alternate date when uniforms can be purchased.

Mail-in Registration:  Registration forms can be mailed to the SSC PO Box if you do not need a uniform.  No late fee will be assessed if postmarked before January 26th.

Late Registration:  A late fee of $15 must be included with the registration if registering after January 26th.  All players registered by February 10th will be placed on a team.  Players registering after date may get on a team immediately, or may be placed on a waiting list.  Buddy requests will be not honored for late registrants as teams will already have been formed.

REFUNDS

Refunds:  Refunds must be requested in writing by February 15th and will be reduced by $25 to cover OYSA fees and processing fees.  Late fees are not refunded for any reason.

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

NO FOOD, DRINK, WATER BOTTLES, CHAIRS OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE GYMS.  Siblings attending games must be supervised and remain with the parent in the gym.  You will not be asked to bring team snacks.  In partnership with our school districts, this decision has been made to avoid litter problems on the school grounds.

SEASON DETAILS

Games are scheduled for an hour on two days of the week during April and May:

You can play basketball and indoor soccer, but cannot combine baseball or softball with indoor soccer as many of those games/practices are on weeknights.

TEAM FORMATION

Coaches are the number one factor: SSC strives to build teams around the coach, based on neighborhood/school proximity.  However, if a coach is not available, this is not always possible.  We do try to place each child on a team with several neighbors or classmates.  We do not use rosters from the previous season and do try to prevent "stacking" of teams by restricting requests for placement of players.

Coaches will contact team members by early March.  Please be patient and contact the club office only if you have not been contacted by March 10th

UNIFORM INFORMATION

We do offer an official Southside t-shirt for the Indoor Recreational League and we require everyone to purchase the t-shirts so that the team is dressed as a ‘team’.  We will no longer allow the players to wear their recreational uniforms as many families want the team to be identical and this is not happening when they wear their jerseys from their various outdoor teams.  Each player should wear the ‘official’ white t-shirt when they are the visiting team and the ‘official’ blue t-shirt when they are the home team.  You may purchase the t-shirts at an in-person registration.  Each t-shirt will cost $10.

We will advise all late registrants when they may obtain uniforms.  Please watch the website and your e-mail for information on the time and place!

Nerf soccer balls will be provided to the coach for each game.  Players may purchase the Nerf soccer balls from local sporting goods store if they desire or from the club office while supplies last.

SHIN GUARDS

Every player must wear shin guards to every game and practice.  Shin guards must be covered by a sock that goes up to the knee or the shin guards must be part of the sock.  Shin guards are available at your local sporting goods store.

JEWELRY

Earrings are NEVER allowed at any time – games or practices.  Taping of earrings is not allowed.  No jewelry is to be worn at games or practices.  Please make sure all is removed prior to starting.

REFEREE INFORMATION

Referees must be at least age 13 and must have played soccer for at least two years.  Training and equipment is provided. First year referees will be paid $8 per game; referees with two years of experience will be paid $10 per game; veteran referees will be paid $12 per game.  Referees will always be at least two grades older than the players.  You can referee and be a player, just make sure we know which team you are on so that we can accommodate your schedule.  Each referee must complete a referee registration form and a referee availability form.  High school students and adult referees are encouraged to participate in our referee program.

THINKING OF BEING A COACH?

Yes, you do have what it takes to be an indoor soccer coach and SSC can help!  Download the step-by-step guide from the website and attend a mini clinic.  Call the SSC office for details

All coaches are required to attend the Coaches Meeting where they will get their team rosters, game schedules, and coach shirts.  This is a good time to ask questions about the program and to get to know the new organizing committee.

The date, time and location for the meeting will be provided to the coaches once teams have been formed.  Please watch your e-mail and our website for full details. Coaches who have been assigned teams will be notified by February 28th.

WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?

If you volunteer for any of the Southside programs, many employers will make a donation for the hours you volunteer.  Nike has been very generous to the club through this program.  Also, many employers will match donations that you make to Southside Soccer Club.  Donated funds are used to support our scholarship programs.  Please contact the club office for details.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Southside Soccer Club programs would not exist if it were not for our dedicated parent volunteers.  Volunteer Coaches:

Program success depends on the involvement of interested adults.

Volunteer coaches are desperately needed.  We must have a coach for every seven kids registered.

If a coach is not found, the team will be disbanded.

No experience or prior indoor soccer knowledge is necessary. Information and training will be provided for the first-time coach. See the website for your copy of the New Coach Guide.

Please check the proper box on the registration form and fill out the Coach Disclosure Statement, which is required for all coaching staff.

Other Volunteers:

Opportunities include team manager and office helpers.  Please indicate your interest by checking the box on the registration form.
